Lenovo updated the ThinkPads for 2011
with a new ThinkPad T520 notebook aimed at business users who need the latest 2nd generation Intel Core i processors, IT-friendly features and enhanced usability from Lenovo. The ThinkPad 2011 refresh also includes the smaller
ThinkPad T420
which provides a more portable package.

Second generation Intel Core i processors
, through to the Intel Core i7-2820QM 2.30GHz processor with TurboBoost 2.0. The T520 can be configured with up to 8GB RAM and up to 320GB hard drive or up to 160GB SSD ThinkPad T520 can be operated with TurboBoost longer than standard notebooks. Thanks to the RapiDDrive technology, the T520 also boots 20 seconds faster than the standard Windows 7 PC.
ThinkPad T520 Features:
Like the rest of the ThinkPad T-series, the T520 comes with the latest voice chat capabilities, allowing users to switch between private mode and conference mode. These modes use the dual array microphone to isolate and communicate with the individual user respectively. Hear in all directions. The new improved video chat modes also suppress keystrokes, so you can take notes while using the microphone without overwhelming the conversation.
Other improvements include the ability to close your laptop when walking between meetings without losing the WiFi connection. IT administrators will appreciate that the T520 shares the same batteries and docking stations as the T and LW series used to enable easy enterprise-wide deployment.
ThinkPad T520 battery life:
Rated for 11 hours on the standard 9-cell battery, the ThinkPad T520 can be expanded with the T-Series Slice battery, which stacks on the bottom and essentially doubles life.Slice batteries add weight, bulk but not beyond the back of the notebook, as is the case with many consumer batteries.
